Are you interested in discovering new aspects of who you are, building social connections, coming out, and succeeding academically? The LGBT Schulich mentorship program can help you achieve these goals! We are very excited to launch this new mentorship program for the 2012/13 academic year!

Our program matches 1st and 2nd year students with upper year students who can provide support and guidance. While university life can be stressful and overwhelming, having a mentor can help ease the transition. Mentees receive the benefit of having experienced upper year LGBT students guide them and give them advice, while mentors receive the satisfaction of knowing that they've made a lasting impact.

How it Works

  • We match each mentee and mentor based on background, goals and interest
  • Mentors arrange informal meetings with mentees at least once a month (ie. meet for coffee)
  • We connect with the mentees and mentors to ensure that they are having a great experience and building valuable connections

The Application Process

  1. Mentors and mentees must complete the online application form
  2. We will review applications and begin matching
  3. Mentors will attend a short training session on effective mentorship and positive space
  4. Mentees and mentors will begin informal meetings!
